Director, Communication

Xizhi Yu (pronounced “UCG” in English) is from Guangzhou Maritime University. Her family speaks four languages (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka, and Minnanese). She first connected with BCEA as a participant in the Family Diplomacy program and later served as an intern in admission and programming with Zineng. Currently, she is the director of the Communication Department.

She joined BCEA to deepen her understanding of international politics and enhance her cross-cultural communication skills. The work BCEA is doing helps her transcend social and institutional barriers, explore countless cultural possibilities and try to understand the world from different perspectives. She has led international volunteers from various countries to provide ongoing global cultural-themed camp education services for local migrant children and served as the organization committee president responsible for organizing offline cultural exchange conferences.

In her spare time, she frequently engages in phenological observations and field surveys which have spanned 20 countries and deeply ignited her curiosity. She has been involved in music production for seven years and has successfully promoted her songs achieving over 10 million plays. She hopes that in future work the Communication Team can help BCEA become more recognized and loved, while also supporting the growth of more interns and BCEA alumni.
